Spaceborne Relative Radiometer: Instrument Design and Pre-Flight Test

نویسندگان

چکیده

In order to simultaneously determine the values of total solar irradiance (TSI) and Earth’s radiation at top atmosphere (TOA) on board Fengyun-3F satellite, a spaceborne relative radiometer (SRR) was developed. It adopts dual-channel structure, including channel (SR) with an unobstructed field view (FOV) 1.5° Earth (ER) wide (WFOV) 95.3° diameter about 1900 km ground. Before launch, both SR ER were calibrated. The SR, installed inner frame tracker SIM-II (solar monitor-II), is used observe rapid changes in radiance SIAR absolute radiometer), electrical-substitution radiometer, orbit. mounted U-shaped tracker, directly pointing nadir direction. Additionally, dark space observation mode on-orbit background noise lunar for calibration. this article, instrument design working principle SRR first introduced, analysis measurement model ER, WFOV SRR, focused on. Finally, ground test results are introduced.

Identification of Spaceborne Microwave Radiometer Calibration Sites for Satellite Missions

The first dedicated soil moisture satellite mission will be the European Space Agency's Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission. This satellite, scheduled for launch in the second half of 2009, has a new type of satellite design that is based on the radio-astronomy technique of simulating a large antenna from a number of smaller ones placed some distance apart. Because of its unique des...

Spaceborne Laser Altimeter Instrument Parameter Calibration

To take advantage of the unique observing capabilities of lidar technology, two NASA dedicated Earth observing laser altimeter missions are scheduled for launch in the near future: the Vegetation Canopy Lidar (VCL) and the Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat). To properly geolocate the surface returns it will be necessary to verify and calibrate pointing, ranging, timing and orbit p...

Spaceborne intensity interferometry via spacecraft formation flight

Interferometry in space has marked advantages: long integration times and observation in spectral bands where the atmosphere is opaque. When installed on separate spacecraft, it also has extended and flexible baselines for better filling of the uv plane. Intensity interferometry has an additional advantage, being insensitive to telescope and path errors, but is unfortunately much less light-sen...
